TURTLE STRANDING DATABASE
Turtle stranding database is created from data obtained by Yayasan Westerlaken Alliance Indonesia on the field/incident locations of stranding, sourced from Whatsapp Group of Pemerhati Penyu Indonesia, Info Penyu Bali, and social media. We consistently coordinate with BKSDA Bali and BPSPL Denpasar in case of stranding incidents. Presently, we have a veterinary doctor capable of conducting necropsies on stranded turtles, allowing us to determine the medical causes of their stranding. Please note that this database can be used for scientific studies/news information, with the requirement to credit Yayasan Westerlaken Alliance Indonesia in the references. Below is the table of stranded turtle database from 2021 until present.
