Westerlaken foundation has contributed Rp 25.000.000,- to the construction of the sea pen in North Bali. The sea pen, constructed and coordinated by our partner Jakarta Animal Aid Network and Dolphin Project, is the first rehab center in Bali for ex-captive dolphins.
Johni and Dewa, ex Melka resort captive dolphins, will go to the sea pen as soon as possible. At the Melka Excelsior Hotel in Lovina, North Bali, Indonesia two dolphins are still clinging to life under desperate conditions. Our common goal is to make sure that they will never again be incorporated into shows or a captive dolphin swim program!
Weekly we visit Johni and Dewa and the construction site of the sea pen. Last week we were able to make drone images of the construction (see below).
