Preserving and Unifying Indonesia's Cultural Heritage through the Display Cabinet
Yayasan Westerlaken Alliance Indonesia has achieved remarkable success in carrying out its mission to preserve Indonesia's cultural heritage. Since 2019, the foundation has restored five valuable cultural artifacts, including four tombaks (spearheads) and one kris that hold significant historical value from Puri Klungkung. This success reached its zenith through the donation of a Display Cabinet, a tangible manifestation of their commitment to the sustainability and preservation of cultural heritage.
The Display Cabinet, measuring 200 x 90 x 40 cm and crafted from plywood and glass, serves not only as an aesthetically pleasing showcase for historical artifacts but also implies the values of beauty and cultural diversity in Indonesia.
Through the presentation of the Display Cabinet, Yayasan Westerlaken Alianze Indonesia also contributed valuable additions, such as Warrior Medals from the Kusamba War and historical photos from Puri Klungkung, enriching the museum experience and reviving stories of the past.
The positive reception from the Regent of Klungkung, the Cultural Office of Klungkung Regency, and Ida Dalem Semara Putera as the King of Puri Klungkung is evidence of the success of this initiative.
The Display Cabinet not only becomes an additional collection for the Semarajaya Klungkung Museum but also unites efforts between the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Yayasan Westerlaken Alianze Indonesia in preserving and appreciating the highly valuable cultural heritage. This cabinet, a result of collaborative efforts, depicts cross-cultural synergy as the primary foundation in caring for and disseminating Indonesia's cultural legacy.
