36 green turtles were confiscated on on the 11th of July on the beach of Serangan. The turtles are still alive and will be released to their natural habit soon. A wooden boat was unloaded in the night and caught the attention of the police. The captain Muhalim and 6 crew members were arrested. The perpetrators claimed to have captured those green turtles from the sea waters of Kerajakan. The plan was to hand over the turtles to a man named Muhayat who lives in Serangan. This deed violates the law concerning conservation of biological natural resources and their ecosystems. Green turtles are considered as protected animals.
