ANBI STATUS THE NETHERLANDS

WESTERLAKEN FOUNDATION

Westerlaken Foundation holds a prestigious Dutch ANBI status, which signifies its recognition by the Dutch government as a Public Benefit Organisation. Under this status, individuals who donate to ANBIs may be eligible for income tax deductions if their gifts exceed 1% of the Dutch threshold income in a calendar year, with a maximum deductible limit of 10% of that income. Additionally, the foundation is exempted from inheritance tax and gift tax on inheritances and gifts received, except those made with the condition that they are not intended for public benefit.

Purpose:

• Financing research on the marine environment, human and children's rights in South East Asia, particularly Indonesia.

• Financing initiatives in the field of the marine environment in South East Asia, particularly Indonesia.

• Providing financial support for emergency relief efforts in South East Asia, especially in Indonesia.

• Financing initiatives related to Cultural Heritage Management in South East Asia (amendment by laws 001)

Remuneration policy: The directors of the foundation do not receive remuneration for their work, except for possible attendance allowances. The board members are entitled to reimbursement of expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.

The foundation operates on a cash-in, cash-out basis and does not maintain assets, liabilities, or equity at the end of the yearly reporting period.
